One of the most common scenarios for pedestrians to get hit is when people are turning right on red; They’re focused on watching the cross traffic, not looking at where their car is going. So they’ll see a gap and accelerate, only to hit a pedestrian.
Absolutely fake. But also, of all the shitty things cars do, occasionally blocking a cross walk when there is ample space to go around isnt the worst.
