I’m curious how so? Wouldn’t an influx of people immigrating into any country cause a dramatic economic shift? I’m aware racism plays a part of the selection process but I can’t imagine it’s the sole reason for such strict control over immigration.

The emissions laws they have in place isn’t really a ban but instead just less encouraging of smaller trucks. The bigger the truck the emissions get easier to pass.

Phones have honestly flat lined. Back in 2011 me and my buddy were heavily into phones upgrading what felt like every few months to try the latest and greatest new features. Nowadays you get a marginally bigger optimized battery, upgraded camera, and a mildly upgraded screen, however you pay significantly more. The only people I know who upgrade on schedule are iPhone users. I’m upgrading every 5-7 years now and my next phones probably gonna be whatever I can get cheap enough
I can say that for myself it’s not really just the price. I don’t have space to put a computer. With a console I can hook it to the TV and tuck it up under it. When I wanna play I can grab just the controller and sit on the couch. I like simplicity. With a pc I need a mouse, keyboard, desk, a chair, speakers, and a monitor. I know it can be hooked up to a tv however the tower still stands as an issue. The smaller compact towers that can be tucked have limited capabilities that rest below consoles.
On top of all that PCs are regularly getting releases years after a games release. PC gaming is only superior if the things going to be entirely utilized by the person and for some reason a lot of PC gamers think the average person will be doing so when that’s simply not the case.
So phones are illegal but not this? What in the actual fuck is going on right now. We are being forced so many damn ads it’s nearly impossible to get away from them. Now I need to worry about someone trying to hit skip instead of focusing on driving. As a motorcyclist I’m now even more terrified. Half the drivers now already don’t look up from their phones…
The world is such a fascinating place. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen a bank WITHOUT a drive thru. I’ve lived in big cities and out in the sticks.
My favorite thing about that is when you fill in the required info and need an email but because you gotta enter it each time using a temporary email doesn’t work. Then you get spammed to death by them…
This is hands down one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard…
I’m curious what this means. Personally I don’t give a damn who uses what do what’s good for you, but android is heavily customizable with different operating systems and apps for more minor tweaks. On top of all that switching from android to iPhone is IMMENSELY easier than iPhone to android.
If you’re referencing the Google apps that people get to involved with there’s many options to get away from them nowadays. There’s whole communities here on lemmy assisting with that for those in to deep or even those just joining the android community so they don’t get pulled in.
I call absolute bullshit on this. They’re losing out on the sale of the device but make up for it 20 fold by selling and manipulating data it collects in your house. This isn’t even conspiracy loads of people report Alexa going off randomly without any sort of prompt. Don’t tell me the device isn’t listening closely to every little conversation you have.
You’re misunderstanding those numbers. The current older generation is boomers which got their name from the baby boom. People don’t have kids like that anymore so everyone including retail stores will see drops in body count. If anything will kill them off its going to be their pricing. It is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper to go with nearly any other brand.
