  • Well, fuckwit, good job on proving that you know how to multiply a couple of constants and volumes together, congrats!

Consider the amount of energy that goes into welding a large automobile frame, casting high carbon conrods and crankshafts, producing all the plastic that goes into the 3100lb clown tank dodge ram you drive since you’re no longer safe on two wheels.

Holistically, quite a lot less energy goes into production of a motorcycle, and furthermore is tremendously easier to recycle in comparison. The much lighter mass from a smaller frame means less tire particulate, less brake dust, and equally important, less time idling in traffic because of lane splitting.

Quality thinking in systems analysis is why engineers make money, versus fuckwits who merely multiply a few constants.

Fuel pump pressures need to creep up to afford DFI (direct fuel injection) which has made up a lot of modern ICE efficiency and emissions improvements. The real solution long-term is electric, but energy density in the batteries needs to creep up a bit, which I’m waiting for with Samsung’s new solid state batteries.

  • I work in energy r&d, and have for several jobs over the years now.

My sadness is transmuted into passion for solving these issues from the ground up. Top brass is interested in “stock options” and blah blah blah, I’m just focused on solving technical problems to make efficient, powerful energy production that isn’t hard on the earth.

The money won’t matter if there’s nowhere to live. My efforts may not be enough, ultimately, but I’ll die knowing I tried to help solve the problems we’ve caused.

I’m not gonna do that, fuck that. I do hope this much screen time is ok for kids, even as a young programmer I didn’t have an iPad everywhere. Nobody seems concerned about their privacy, but guess what: neither did my millennial peers.

I think everything will be ok with alpha and Z. Let’s not repeat our the mistakes of our parents.

  • Having worked for the MTA on the subway system years back, I invite you all to remember that we built one of the very first subway systems in the world, definitely first in scale, knowing we’d make mistakes in implementation, along with a lot of successful ideas.

Everyone else learns from our mistakes, we gladly hosted the engineering team from Los Angeles and Bangkok when they wanted to share notes with us.

With almost 200miles/320km of public tracks, this is easily the most successful mass transit system internationally. "BuT gWaFiTi BaD :( "

    Give it a rest, posers.
